Woodland Park
About
A staple of community life in Sturgis, Woodland Park is the kind of green space that locals return to year after year for reunions, celebrations, and lazy summer afternoons. The Woodland Shelter is an open shelter with a full kitchenette — refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, and electricity — with seating for up to 150 people. A patio with permanent charcoal grills and restroom facilities are attached, and a small playground sits right next door.
It's a well-equipped, reservable space that works equally well for a family birthday party or a large community gathering. The park includes a volleyball court and the Sturgis Bike Path passes through the park. Nearby, you'll find the Sturgis Bike Park, and Bear Butte Creek Waterfall.
Whether you're passing through Sturgis outside of Rally season or looking for a low-key place to spend an afternoon, Woodland Park delivers the basics done right.
