Victoria Trail System: Victoria 159
About
Victoria 159 is a full-width gravel road, roughly 10.9 miles, crossing between Sheridan Lake Road and Highway 385 just south of Pactola Reservoir. Unlike the single-track trails it connects, it's open to all vehicle types, from full-size trucks and side-by-sides down to motorcycles, and serves as the scenic backbone accessing the area's other routes.
Most of it is gravel with some loose rock, plus a few creek crossings that grow after rain and occasional larger-rock sections that challenge smaller vehicles or anyone in slippery conditions. No Black Hills trail permit is required to drive this road, and it's open year-round. The area is popular with target shooters, so stay alert to other users and vehicles. Running east to west, one obstacle rewards clearance and 4x4.
