Victoria Trail System: Victoria 13
About
Victoria 13 is the longest and toughest single-track motorcycle trail in the Victoria Trail System, and likely its most popular (onX lists 8.2 miles in its data, 8.6 in its description). Rated difficult (onX 5) for steep, rocky, loose climbs, its west end starts off Brush Creek Road, with a rerouted entrance a bit further north, and winds east through open forest of tall, skinny pines. It begins easy and smooth, though you'll watch for stumps along the edges, then drops into a shaded, overgrown gully, crosses big meadows, and climbs rockier slopes.
The trail constantly rolls up and down with a persistently rocky surface, getting harder heading east with bigger jagged rocks and embedded roots. Around 4.7 miles from the west entrance, an easy-to-miss right-hand turn trips up riders; multiple dirt-road crossings serve as bailouts. Single-track only; open May 15 to December 15; permit required.
