South Boxelder Motorized Trailhead
About
South Boxelder Trailhead is a popular motorized access point in the northern Black Hills near Nemo, about 25 minutes from Rapid City. This trailhead connects to an extensive network of designated 62" ATV and UTV trails, offering routes that range from short scenic rides to longer 10+ mile adventures. The terrain is considered easy to moderate, featuring a mix of forest roads, winding singletrack, and creekside paths through Boxelder Canyon.
Riders will experience pine forest, rock formations, and shaded canyon sections, making it one of the more scenic motorized areas in the region. While especially popular for off-road vehicles, the area can also be used for hiking and exploring. With trailer parking and direct trail access, South Boxelder Trailhead is a key starting point for Black Hills ATV riding.
