Sheridan Lake: South Campground

Located along the south shore of Sheridan Lake, Sheridan Lake South Campground offers five large loops with many sites featuring direct access to the lakeshore. Some sites are nestled into the ponderosa pines for seclusion, while others overlook the lake and surrounding Black Hills. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Campground amenities include water spigots, vault toilets, and trash collection. No electrical hookups or showers are available. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 77 feet, including two tent-only sites. The warm lake supports rainbow and brown trout, northern pike, perch, and bass. The south boat ramp and South Beach swim area are both accessible from within the campground. Day-use fees are waived for registered campers. The Calumet Trailhead for the 11-mile nationally designated Flume Trail begins nearby. Peak season rate is $36 per night; off-season $15. Reserve up to 180 days in advance. Cell service is not available in the campground areas.
