Memorial Park: Rapid City Skate Park

The Rapid City Skatepark opened in 2002 and offers approximately 5,000 square feet of concrete skatable surface in Memorial Park, just off New York Street near the Journey Museum and along the Swanny Pathway corridor. The park features a bowl area, railings, stairs, ramps, and several stand-alone rail and wall elements, making it suitable for skateboarders, inline skaters, and scooter riders across a range of skill levels. The street-style layout rewards technical tricks, with the bowl offering a transition option for those looking to mix up their session. Lights are available for evening skating, extending usable hours past sunset. The park is free and open daily from 7 a.m. until dusk, or later when lights are on. Helmets and pads are strongly recommended.
