Lookout Mountain Trail

Lookout Mountain Trail is a short but rewarding hike located near Spearfish, South Dakota, in the northern Black Hills. The trail is approximately 1 to 1.5 miles round trip and is considered moderate due to its steady incline. Starting near Spearfish Canyon, the route climbs through pine forest and rocky terrain, leading to panoramic views overlooking Spearfish Canyon and the surrounding Black Hills. The summit area provides excellent viewpoints, making it a popular spot for photography and sunset views.
