Lead Skate Park

A free concrete skate park in the heart of Lead — open to skaters and BMX riders year-round.

About

The Lead Skate Park opened July 17, 2022, with a concrete section built by Evergreen Skateparks. It's free, outdoors, and open to both skaters and BMX riders. The mixed-surface park sits within Manuel Brothers Park — Lead's anchor community park named after the gold miners who first staked the Homestake claim in 1876, located near the famous Homestake Open Cut. At over 5,200 feet elevation, Lead is one of the highest cities in South Dakota, giving this skate park a genuinely unique setting — surrounded by the northern Black Hills and the legacy of one of America's greatest gold mines. The park is managed by the city, requires no pads, and has no on-site pro shop. No lights, so plan your session before dark.
