Beautiful park with a winding walking path, horse sculptures, picnic areas, and an all-abilities park. A great way to spend the afternoon!
Jorgensen Park
About
Jorgensen Park sits in the heart of Spearfish and is home to Kenadi's Playground, a fully inclusive play area built by community volunteers and dedicated in 2019 in memory of a local girl who loved being at the park.
The playground is completely ramped and accessible, designed so children of every age and ability can play side by side. It features sensory-rich components including a sensory wave with adaptive switches, climbing links, a boulder climber, a Rock-n-Raft, an overhead loop ladder, activity panels, and a swaying net bridge, all over cushioned poured-in-place rubber surfacing with shade roofs for cooler comfort.
Beyond the playground, the park offers picnic areas, sports fields, flower beds, and open green space, with fishing for rainbow and brown trout in nearby Spearfish Creek. The back of the park connects to the Spearfish Rec Path, the 7.5-mile creekside trail that links parks across town. It's an easy, welcoming stop for families looking to let kids of all abilities play together.
