Indian Springs

Indian Springs is a small, serene park at 220 Dakota Street in Spearfish, directly across from Spearfish City Park along the Recreation Trail. Named for the natural spring that once drew Native American tribes to the area long before European settlement, the site has served as a community gathering place for generations. The Indian Springs Gazebo has become a chosen location for weddings, baptisms, and celebrations, with a scenic waterfall that runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The gazebo was completed in spring 2007 and quickly became one of the most photographed spots in Spearfish. The surrounding grassy area accommodates 300 to 350 chairs for event seating, and electrical outlets are available at the back of the gazebo. Outside of events, Indian Springs is a peaceful stop on the Recreation Trail — shaded, well-maintained, and worth a few minutes of quiet on any walk through town. The waterfall cascades down a natural rock face, creating a cool, photogenic corner of the park even on the hottest summer days.
