Harbach Centennial Park

Harbach Centennial Park is one of the most convenient starting points in the Black Hills. The park sits a short distance from downtown Custer along the Mickelson Trail, making it a natural hub for cyclists, hikers, and families exploring the area. A gazebo sits near the middle of the park, and a vintage train car is on display at one end — a nod to the railroad heritage that shaped this part of the Black Hills. The park features a playground, picnic areas, a bike repair station, and a small river to relax alongside. The Custer Skywalk Trailhead — the gateway to Big Rock Park's disc golf course, observation points, and hilltop views — sits just across the street. The park has water, trash, and picnic shelters, and the visitor center has helpful staff and area information.
