Ditch Creek Motorized Trailhead

Located southwest of Deerfield Reservoir, the Ditch Creek Trailhead is a key staging area for the Black Hills’ extensive Motorized Trail System. This trailhead is specifically designed to accommodate OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes, providing direct access to miles of designated forest trails. The terrain offers a mix of wide, flowing paths through high-mountain meadows and more technical, timbered sections that challenge riders of all skill levels. Because it connects to a vast network of Forest Service roads and trails, it’s a favorite for long-distance loops. The landscape features "parks"—expansive meadows—framed by dense ponderosa pines, offering riders a mix of high-speed stretches and scenic vistas. While motorized use is the main draw, the area remains open to hikers and mountain bikers who don't mind sharing the trail. In the winter, the trailhead transitions into a jumping-off point for snowmobiling.
