Dirt Jump Park

The Rapid City Dirt Jump Park has been built and maintained entirely by volunteers over the past ten years, making it one of the most grassroots cycling destinations in the Black Hills. It's a small but beloved spot for bike riders looking for jumps and dirt trail features in the heart of the city. The park sits off the Swanny Pathway bike path just north of West Main Street, near the river in downtown Rapid City. It's easily accessible on two wheels from the Founders Park trailhead or any point along the Leonard Swanson Memorial Pathway, making it a natural add-on for cyclists already out on the creek corridor. The jump lines are built for bikes — from beginner rollers to more technical gap jumps — and attract a regular crowd of local riders on evenings and weekends. The park is free and open to all skill levels, though beginners should watch experienced riders first before dropping in. In summer, grass and weeds can overtake sections of the park between maintenance sessions — and rattlesnakes have been spotted in the area, so stay aware on and off the jumps.
