This was so awesome! I expected to enjoy it, but it was so much better. It was satisfying to watch the giant fish up close and learn about the hatchery process.

The D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery in Spearfish is one of the oldest operating hatcheries in the United States, offering a unique mix of history, education, and outdoor recreation. Located at the mouth of Spearfish Canyon, the site features historic buildings, interpretive exhibits, and scenic walking paths along Spearfish Creek.

Stopped in on a whim and stayed a couple of hours. So much to see! This was educational and fascinating. Perfect family activity when in Spearfish.
