The Custer Peak Snowmobile Trailhead sits approximately 11 miles south of Deadwood off US Highway 385, providing direct access to snowmobile Trail 7 and serving as a gateway to 350 miles of groomed snowmobile trails throughout the Black Hills. Riding upward toward Custer Peak, snowmobilers encounter sweeping forested terrain, elevation gain, and panoramic views. Deadwood Connections Trail 7 connects north toward Deadwood and south through the central Black Hills, giving riders excellent range across the system. The adjacent Mystic Hills Hideaway offers cabins, RV sites, and UTV and snowmobile rentals just steps from the trailhead — making it a convenient base camp for multi-day winter adventures. Trails are open December 15 through March 31. No restrooms are available at the trailhead itself.
