Cement Ridge Fire Lookout is a historic Black Hills fire tower in the northwestern hills near the South Dakota-Wyoming border. The original lookout was built between 1911 and 1913, and the current tower dates to 1941. Set at roughly 6,647 feet, the site offers broad views across the Black Hills and surrounding country, with a rocky meadow landscape and open summit setting.
The Forest Service provides driving directions to the site, and there is parking at the summit, so this is primarily a drive-up destination on gravel forest roads, not a standard trail-only hike. Some visitors do choose to walk the road from lower junctions, but the official access is by road and conditions may require extra caution on non-paved routes.
