Buzzard’s Roost Trailhead is about 5 miles west of Rapid City on Highway 44. It’s a non-motorized trail system with about 10 miles of stacked loop trails that vary in difficulty. The area is popular for mountain biking, hiking, and trail running, and the rocky limestone summit offers dramatic 360-degree views. The parking area is on the south side of Highway 44. The site does not have restrooms or potable water.
