Brookside Park
About
Brookside Park sits off South River Street along the Freedom Trail, with newly installed playground equipment and shoreline access to the Fall River for swimming.
What makes it special is the water itself. The Fall River is fed by thermal warm springs and runs year-round, with area residents enjoying wading and playing in its constant 87-degree mineral waters. Places for splashing, wading, and tubing can be found along the river right through the park, and Brookside has a small wading area with plenty of opportunities to dip your toes in the warm water.
The park features covered picnic tables and footbridges with a seasonal restroom, and it connects directly to the paved Freedom Trail, the mile-long path that runs alongside the Fall River and links Brookside to Centennial Park.
It's an easy, relaxed stop that feels like Hot Springs at its most unhurried.
