Beaver Creek Ski System Trailhead

The Beaver Creek Ski Trail system consists of six trails totaling 12.9 miles: the Porcupine Trail, Dry Beaver Trail, Highland Trail, Mallo Trail, Sunshine Trail, and Highnoon Trail. The system offers a variety of terrain suited to different skill levels, from gentle Nordic glides to more challenging routes through the Black Hills' ponderosa pine forest. The Mallo Trail is a groomed snowmobile trail shared with skiers — use caution when skiing this route. The trailhead is located in the northwestern Black Hills near the Wyoming-South Dakota border, offering a quiet and remote winter recreation experience well away from the more heavily trafficked areas of the forest. With an average snowfall of around 150 inches per year, cross-country ski conditions in the Black Hills are generally favorable from late November through early March. Snowshoers are also welcome on non-groomed sections.
