Bear Butte Creek Waterfall
About
One of the Black Hills' best-kept secrets, Bear Butte Creek Waterfall is a tucked-away gem that most visitors drive right past. Located in Sturgis off Highway 34, the waterfall sits alongside the bike path between Hills and Plains Park and Fort Meade. It's easy to miss.
Getting there is half the adventure. Plan on getting wet crossing the creek, and the climb up to the falls is steep and slippery. The reward is a secluded waterfall that feels worlds away from the bustle of the main Black Hills attractions nearby.
This is a great side quest for anyone visiting the nearby Stugis Bike Park, Woodland Park or riding the Sturgis Bike Path, which passes within a short distance of the waterfall.
